Wireless Upgrade

August 27th, 2013

Due to a required security update, all laptops and wireless desktops will need to be hard-wired to the network and have a command run before these machines can connect to the wireless in the buildings.

This is a priority and is being addressed. Media and IS staff are going around the buildings and are working on resolving this as soon as possible. Thank-you.

E-Mailing External Contacts: Receiving A “Barracuda Networks” Block Message

Good morning,

Update 2 08/26/2013: E-Mails to the city of Milford and other Barracuda clients should go through now. Please let us know if you continue to have any messages rejected.

Update: The problem has been isolated. We are waiting to be removed from the list.

We wanted to apprise everyone that our e-mail server has been added as a false-positive to a popular spam firewall company known as Barracuda Networks. Multiple school districts, colleges and city agencies throughout the country utilize this spam firewall company. We have submitted a request to have our e-mail server removed from their block list. They will provide us with an update on the status of this request. For the time being, you may receive a block message referencing Barracuda Networks when e-mailing an external address. We will give you an update as soon as we hear more information and we will work to resolve this problem as soon as possible. Thank-you.

Network Folder File/Favorite Backup Assistance

June 18th, 2013

We want to ensure that every effort is made to support teachers and staff so that no files or Favorites are lost this year. To go along with this, we will be assigning our staff to the schools during the final days to be present for help with backing up files and Favorites.

We will be doing the following schedule:

Wednesday, June 19th   :  3-5 Schools
Thursday, June 20th   :     Middle Schools
Friday, June 21st    :    High Schools

(The K-2 schools will not be re-imaged, have profiles cleared or be moved this year.)

The main office will make an announcement when staff are in the building. They will then be going room to room to offer assistance.

Reminder: Saving Your Files Properly

As the school year draws to an end, it is very important to make sure that you are saving your files to the correct network folder location. Machines will be re-imaged and moved, so files should NOT be saved to the local hard-drive.
